Timbered Work-residence mix Building

Sarugaku Plural Directed Tower is a Timbered Work-residence mix  Building, consisting of a shop, a small office and a multi-family house with a workplace. There are workplaces of oneself or others near by the living space. “Working” is summoned as part of “living” and  they come and go between them.

In the housing part, surplus spaces are produced as multiple households live together, and it is used for a workplace. Unlike condominiums and office buildings, work-residence mix forms new typology that involve each other, creating relationships and communication that spans both sides, and building a community of new forms of living in the cities.

Places for human linked to Plural Directions

In the architecture, huge wooden material, CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) manufactured in mountain villages of Japan, shape places for human, linked to the environmental network of ten directions (meaning every direction. In here, economic · material · topography · void · wind · light · water · fire · heat · garden) . Then thought that the exposed timber structure could softly reconnect fragmentation of “living” advanced in the 20th century while visualizing the role of linking the local and the city.
